....the cost effective
way to elevate
sub-standard soils
to meet BS 3882 There is clearly a need for specialist soils contractors who operate between the main construction companies and landscape contractors, to take responsibility for the soils either on site or imported to site. This could also extend to include the placement of this material.
As with any project it is important to minimise the potential of plant failure from either the soils or the method/conditions in which they are placed. Freeland fits between the two activities as a specialist soils contractor undertaking this vital task.
On many landscape/restoration projects, inferior soils exist on site i.e. that which may not adhere with BS 3882 or the Landscape Architects specification/requirements for the project. Normally this material is removed and replaced with soils which adhere on all parameters. This programme is undertaken at vast expense to the client and the costs can on occasions prevent the project from going forward.
Substantial Cost Savings
Freeland has conducted many projects utilising sub standard soils on site and through physical and nutritional manipulation has transformed them into substrates which adhere with the specification presented by the Landscape Architect or that adhering with a British Standard. |
