| The awards won by Freeland have so far been in association with APEX. In 2001 Freeland Horticulture Ltd, SITA (UK) Ltd, Onyx Hampshire Ltd (Now Veolia Hampshire) and Cleanaway Ltd (now Veolia Cleanaway Ltd) formed APEX to self regulate working practices and standardise quality for the composting of garden waste. Freeland is proud to have played a key role in setting up this initiative. All compost sites run by APEX members produce compost to the same high quality specification which can be used in Landscape or retail market
APEX started its award winning trail in 2002 whit it won the Jim Balance award for excellence and innovation in marketing compost awarded by The Composting Association.
In 2003 APEX won Recycled Procuct of the Year sponsored by letsrecycle.com and Best Industry Recycling Initiative sponsored by Biffa at the National Recycleing awards.
Also in 2003 the BCE Premier Award was awarded to APEX for business commitment to the Environment which was presented by Sir Anthony Cleaver.
2004 APEX won the Suez International Innovation Award Also in 2004 APEX won a Certificate of Special Commendation for The Partnership Award, presented by The Composting Association and judged by WRAP, LARAC, CIM, ciwm, Growing media association, The Open University and Commonity Composting Network. |
