Introduction

From its inception in 1993, Freeland Horticulture has been serving the soil needs of the Civil Engineering, Construction, Landscaping and Horticulture industries.

As an expert in the production and supply of topsoil, Freeland Horticulture is also a pioneer in the creation of specialist soils developed by their in-house soil scientist.

Using this technical knowledge and followed by strong after sales support Freeland can ensure that all the customer’s individual soil requirements are met.

Freeland operates from its head office in Hextable, Kent. It has nine sites located around the UK. There is currently no other company that can provide the quality, quantity and variety of soils that Freeland Horticulture can.

All of the nine sites produce significant quantities of BS3882 certified topsoil which also meets CLEA model and is regularly tested by independent laboratories to ensure quality remains consistent. To complement this Freeland has a wealth of knowledge and experience to produce an array of specialist soils such as Lightweight Rooftop, Low Nutrient, Calcareous, Tree Soil and many more.

Many of these soils have been used on various projects ranging in size and complexity, including housing projects and schools to large scale landscaping projects.

Furthermore, Freeland produce large quantities of compost and subsoils and are responsible for the development of the UK’s first peat replacement material.
