Freeland has been widely recognised as an industry leader for excellence and innovation.
In March 2012 won the Innovation in Organics Recycling Award reflecting the technological breakthrough Freeland made with its ground breaking green waste product which is the best performing peat replacement product available for the horticulture sector.

In 2004 Freeland won the Suez International Innovation Award as well as a Certificate of Special Commendation for The Partnership Award, presented by The Composting Association. Most recently the company won the prestigious Innovation in Organics Recycling award from the Association for Organics Recycling.
At the National Recycling Awards the previous year, Freeland won Recycled Product of the Year as well as the Best Industry Recycling Initiative award. Also in 2003 the BCE Premier Award was awarded for business commitment to the Environment.
In conjunction with its associates, Freeland won the 2002 Jim Balance Award for excellence and innovation in marketing compost.
